Cooper & Southwark visit
This week, TateHindle were invited to walk around CBRE's fit out of 61 Southwark Street.
Harish Ratna, Director at TateHindle said: "The transformation to make Cooper & Southwark fit for the 21st century has been both challenging and gratifying. We have worked with HB Reavis to re-imagine spaces to bring the outmoded office building back to life through a significant refurbishment and extension. With Southwark in the midst of rapid change as new and old buildings sit side by side, we aspired to knit the revitalised Cooper & Southwark not just to its immediate context but also to the neighbourhood beyond."
The 1970s office building has had a comprehensive Cat A refurbishment and extension, bringing it up to contemporary standards. Prominently located on the corner of Southwark Street and Great Guildford Street, the transformed office development has been named Cooper & Southwark as a nod to the barrel making industry and the coopers that traditionally practiced their trade in the area.
