Unlocking the potential of a historic building in the heart of the City of London.

Main moves

We were appointed by the Christ’s Hospital Foundation to carry out a CAT A refurbishment of One Gresham Street, which was built in 1894. With views to St Paul’s Cathedral from every floor and an abundance of heritage features including exposed beams, our aim was to carry out a sensitive restoration of the building, giving it a new life as an inspirational workspace. The original stair was retained, while the core was completely replanned and a new lift built in the office space. Cooling and heating systems were fully updated. We focussed on maximising ceiling heights, and added bright, contemporary interiors and timber sash windows.
