Transforming an unloved ‘building of merit’ in a central London conservation area into six contemporary apartments for longstanding client TAG Urban Properties.

Main moves

Our design sensitively reimagines what was originally two separate late 19th century warehouse buildings, subsequently converted to a single commercial property in the mid-20th century, into modern, high quality one and two-bedroom homes. Located in an enclosed mews between Fitzrovia and Marylebone, we retained the original masonry spine walls and brick arches, timber trusses and beams, and cast iron columns. London stock brickwork and struck limestone pointing create visual continuity. The interiors play with the building’s industrial origins, with exposed brick, full-height Crittall doors and new casement windows.
